Colonel  Robert P. Monfore, former Commander of the 62nd Engineer Battalion (Land Clearing) in Vietnam, and founder of the Vietnam Land Clearers Association,  passed away on December 18th, 2018 at age 90.  He was privately buried on his ranch in Wagner, South Dakota

"Bob", as he wanted us to call him, was the keystone of our organization, having founded it back around 1992, and was an inspiration to us all, as he had been instrumental in bringing the men of Land Clearing back together after the war in a way that highlighted each of their achievements, while sharing memories and helping to make more sense of our work related involvement in Vietnam. He will long be remembered by all who knew him and all who had shared the legacy of Land Clearing operations in South Vietnam.
